24-Hour Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
Because time is limited, 24 hours notice is required for all lesson cancellations and rescheduling. This policy is in place to protect the instructors. When you book a lesson, you are preventing all other students from booking that time. Lessons cannot be re-scheduled with another student in only a few hours time, however the instructor is still responsible for studio rent. Regardless of circumstances, lessons not cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours before the start of the lesson time will be charged. It is the student's responsibility to remember this policy as they will not be reminded by their instructor but will be expected to cover any and all cancellation costs.
Bookings may be officially cancelled via:
1. Email written to your instructor
2. Voicemail or telephone call to your instructor
Tardiness
If you arrive late, your lesson will still end at the scheduled time as a courtesy to the students scheduled after you. If you miss your lesson entirely, it will not be rescheduled or refunded.
Discounted Prepaid Lesson Packages
Lessons are offered at a discounted price when students purchase 4 or more lessons at a time. Discounted rates are only offered when multiple lessons are purchased in advance. In the event of late cancellation/rescheduling or no-show, the prepaid fee for that lesson will be forfeited.
Parking
Students are welcome to park in the parking space reserved for Kernohan Vocal Studio. Since many students use this space, however, please do not occupy this space more than 5 minutes before your scheduled lesson time and vacate it once lesson time is over since the student scheduled after you may be waiting to use it.
Recording sessions
Instructors are available to help you in your recording sessions depending on the time of recording. Recording session rates are higher than vocal studio rates and must include the instructor's travel time. Instructors are also available to prep you for your recording session via Skype at regular vocal studio rates. Discuss this with your instructor for more details.
Instructor Cancellation
If the instructor needs to cancel a lesson, a make-up lesson will be scheduled for a time that is mutually convenient. Instructor cancellation is rare and only occurs in an emergency.
Holiday Lessons
Lessons scheduled on holidays are not automatically cancelled. If the studio is closed due to a holiday or special event, you will be notified. Otherwise, please assume that lessons are scheduled as usual. If you wish to cancel/reschedule due to a holiday, please see the 24 Hour Cancellation Policy.
Students Under 18 Years of Age
Students under 18 years of age are eligible to book their own lessons unless their parent/guardian has informed the instructor otherwise. Parents/guardians should discuss where to meet the student when the lesson is over to ensure the student's safety. Instructors cannot watch over the student once the lesson is complete due to other scheduled lessons.
