Most singers push too much air. When you push too much air, you are in a struggle with your own instrument. It often results in tension, pain, or cracking. Students are amazed when I show them how much easier singing is when you use the proper amount of air.

Head voice and falsetto are not the same at all! When a singer can't get into head voice properly, they usually end up screaming or using falsetto. Falsetto is a very breathy sound that can make a singer's voice sound weak. True head voice is a MUCH stronger. In vocal lessons singers learn how to master their head voice, giving them much more range and power.

Not at all! Anyone who can speak and isn’t tone deaf can sing. I work with all levels, from professionals to hobbyists. I believe anyone who loves to sing deserves to know how to use their voice.

My goal is to give you a healthy vocal technique that will last you FOREVER. The human voice can only take a certain amount of improper singing before it gives out entirely. As we age, proper singing becomes even more important. I want my students to keep their voices forever, this is possible with my technique.

Not only coffee but caffeine in general should be avoided before a performance. The reason for this is that caffeine causes dehydration. The vocal cords need to be hydrated in order to function properly. It is important when you are performing to have the voice in prime condition. You will also want to avoid carbonated drinks before a performance.
